Heejung Kim delivered a Keynote Address on "Environmental engagement in a diverse world: The relationship between environmental beliefs, social norms, and support for environmental action ” on 19 April 2024 at Humboldt University in Berlin. The talk was part of the two-day workshop, sponsored by the Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues (SPSSI) and the Berlin Institute for Integration and Migration Research. The conference was organized by Dr.

David Sherman presented a talk, “The Fierce Urgency of Now”: Intergroup Conflict and the Social Psychology  of Climate Change Policy” at Leuphana University Lüneburg, Germany. David presented to an audience of students and professors at the Institute for Sustainability Psychology on 16 April 2024. The talk occurred in a remarkable lecture hall, The Central Building. The building is pictured below with David and Professor Timur Sevincer, who organized the colloquium.

Welcome Jungbin Lim & Devlin O’Keefe, new lab members beginning in Fall 2024! Both Jungbin and Devlin were named 2035 Fellows as part of the 2035 Initiative at UCSB.

David Sherman & Heejung Kim gave talks at FGV EAESP in São Paulo, Brazil on January 30th, 2024, at the Department of Marketing. Sherman’s talk was titled "Beliefs and Social Norms as Precursors of Environmental Support: The Influence of Collectivism and Socioeconomic Status” and Kim’s talk was titled “Environmental Motivation as Social Motivation: How Social Need Influence the Relationship Between Environmental Beliefs and Action.” Below is a photo of them with the talk attendees.

2018 PBS PhD Kimin Eom, Assistant Professor at Singapore Management University, was named Rising Star of the Association for Psychological Science (2023).
 

Cameron Brick was the recipient of the 2022 Early Career Achievement Award from American Psychological Association Div. 34 Environmental Psychology. Cameron Brick earned his PhD in social psychology at UCSB in 2015 and is an Assistant Professor of Social Psychology with tenure at the University of Amsterdam, Netherlands.
